Qualifications:

Experience: At least 1 year of prior experience with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish required. Unfailing integrity and consistent application of decision making skills necessary to ensure the goals, intent and quality of all aspects of staff training and quality assurance. Must demonstrate empathy for individuals with disabilities.

Other Skills: Basic mathematical and intermediate computer skills required. Knowledge of internal electronic filing system and Microsoft Office software as well as significant overall technological proficiency required.              

Physical/Environmental: Ability to lift 35 pounds. Moderate noise such as would be found in a business office with computers, printers and light traffic. Travel between agency facilities required.                                            

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Staff Training Coordinator, provide oversight and assistance with all company required training as well as onsite, (at DSGP day/residential service locations in both communities), quality assurance, mentoring and teaching of Direct Support Professionals. Assist with both cooperative establishment of, and application of training curriculum for all programmatic staff company wide. Learn, adhere and teach all aspects of Disability Supports Gentle Teaching Initiative. Become a certified trainer in CPR/First Aid from the American Red Cross for both subsequent initial training and annual recertification of company staff requiring that designation. Become a certified trainer in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), to educate and prepare staff for proper responses to potential heightened levels of behaviors from individuals served. Assist with Relias online training, including scheduling and proctoring. Ensure quality living and community supports through comprehensive quality assurance process. Work as company lead and liaison for multi-lingual, (Spanish), adaptation, application and teaching of all elements of training and curriculum.
