Experience: Prior direct care experience preferred, but not required. Experience with ledgers and basic accounting preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and individuals served. Must demonstrate compassion for individuals with disabilities.
Physical/Environmental: Must be able to lift, push and/or pull a minimum of 50 pounds, stand for periods of time, bend, push wheelchairs, and provide physical intervention on a regular basis. Noise level may vary, depending upon duty assigned.
Education: High School diploma/equivalent preferred. Math skills are required.
Responsibilities: To provide our clients the experience of shopping for their own groceries and personal items. Be able to ensure that our clients have the correct ingredients to adhere to each client’s menu. Implement Person Centered Support Plans for assigned individuals. Assist clients with shopping. Complete documentation as required through the general course of duties. Report to the appropriate Program Manager or Case Manager any occurrences that affect the immediate well-being of the individual. Attend all meetings as assigned and required. When approved as a driver of agency vehicles, employee will transport individuals and adhere to rules and regulations in regards to driving Disability Supports’ vehicles. Other Skills: Basic mathematical, grammar and computer skills required. Valid drivers license is a requirement. Must be able to meet insurance requirements per company policy.
