Qualifications:

Minimum High School education or GED. Possess and maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s License. Obtain a Class A CDL “Learner’s Permit” with tanker endorsement within 30 days of employment. Upon completed training by County forces must be able to obtain Class A CDL with tanker endorsement. Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining any certification and licensing requirements relative to the position.

Responsibilities:

Job Objectives: Manual labor involving a variety of duties associated with Reno County Road and Bridge. Essential Job Functions: Mow or trim grass, weeds and other tall growth, cut trees and brush with tractor mowers or bucket truck. Install and maintain traffic control devices according to the MUTCD. Haul, stockpile or dump road materials or debris using a dump truck. Plow snow with truck plows and spread ice treatment materials. Operate front-end loader to load truck, move debris, operate water truck in road construction and maintenance. Compact asphalt materials, sealing cover materials or other materials with rollers. Power broom asphalt surfaces. maintain written records and daily time sheets. Perform minor maintenance on equipment and assist mechanics in servicing or repairing equipment. Read and interpret grade stakes. Pick up loose paper and other debris. Train on heavy equipment.
