Reno County offers the option of six public school districts and two parochial schools. With district sizes ranging from about 300 to 5,000 students, residents have the option to choose a school based on the specific needs and interests of their child. This level of flexibility makes it possible for both parents and students to determine what class size, environment, and school resources would be best for their individual learning style. Regardless of which school parents choose, they will be greeted by a team of educators that is both passionate and committed to providing the highest quality education.

Hutchinson is home to both Hutchinson Community College and the Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy, which ensures students can continue their education in an environment that best suits their needs.  The Hutchinson Community College has developed a widely acknowledged reputation for successfully creating training programs tailored exactly to business needs and the Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy, co-located with Hutchinson Public Schools and HCC, offers a comprehensive skilled pipeline of students ready for the workforce.

High School students also have an opportunity to attend Hutchinson Community College, through Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy, making this an excellent community for students who are seeking to get a jump start on their future.

Adult learners will also feel at home here. Hutchinson Community College offers courses and certificate programs that can help adults to advance in their chosen careers or to gain the training necessary to begin a new one.

With a variety of technical training options available, students looking to begin a rewarding career can do so, without earning a degree.

Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy

The Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy offers courses in five career fields that encompass eighteen pathways. Hutchinson has been a leader in career and technical education for decades, and with the addition of a new 96,000 square foot facility, Hutchinson is prepared to lead career and technical education in the 21st Century. HCTEA partners with Hutchinson Community College and is available to all students in the region. These partnerships differentiate our workforce, and ensure a pipeline of quality talent for the future.

Students who attend HCTEA will be assessed and matched with a career pathway that is designed to lead to a fulfilling career that is based upon their personal interests and aptitudes. By focusing on student strengths, HCTEA staff presents students with the opportunity to learn, grow, and excel in a high-demand career where they can thrive. This scientific approach to career and technical training is producing high-caliber talent that is ready to get to work and contribute to the growth of Hutchinson companies.

Since many of their courses also provide college credit, students of HCTEA may go on to earn their college degree at a later date.
