Position Requirements and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or G.E.D. plus two years vocational/technical or manufacturers training in auto or diesel mechanics. 2. Two years shop experience may be substituted for education. 3. ASE or factory certification required. 4. Must provide own hand tools and storage. Certifications / Licenses: 1. Must maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license. 2. Attends ongoing job-related training.
Job Purpose and Objectives: Skilled manual work, which includes maintenance, diagnostics and repair of county automobiles, pickups, vans, and equipment. This includes law enforcement and transit vehicles and equipment. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Automotive.
