Position Requirements and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Position Requirements: Field Appraiser I - Pay Range $17.50- $23.52 hourly High school diploma or GED. Successful completion of IAAO 101, USPAP (15 hr.), PVD Property Tax Law, PVD Orion Introduction, and PVD Residential/Agricultural Data Collection within 2 years in position. Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all certification requirements relative to the position. Position Requirements: Field Appraiser II - Pay Range $18.44 - $24.79 hourly High school diploma or GED. Completion of IAAO course I and Orion Residential/Agricultural courses completed successfully. Minimum 3 years of experience as Field Appraiser I – Personal Property / Residential / Agricultural. Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all certification requirements relative to the position. Certifications / Licenses - Both Positions: Maintain a valid Kansas driver's license.
***Field Appraiser I - most of the job specific knowledge required will be taught during the training process*** Job Purpose and Objectives: Responsible for inspecting, appraising, and maintaining accurate property records for personal property and residential and agricultural parcels within the county. This includes evaluating new construction, alterations, and land use to ensure fair property valuation, updating appraisal data in Orion, and verifying sales information. The position requires participation in annual property reviews, hearings, and quality control processes to uphold valuation accuracy and compliance with policies. Regular interaction with the public, report writing, and data entry are key parts of the role. Additionally, must maintain confidentiality, adhere to county procedures, and pursue ongoing professional development.
