Qualifications:

High school diploma, Vo-Tech or G.E.D. or equivalent experience relevant to the job duties of this position. Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all certification requirements relevant to the position. Shall be a US citizen and at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities:

Job Objectives: Contributes to the maintenance and operation of county owned buildings and grounds by installing, troubleshooting, and/or repairing plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems; troubleshooting and repairing appliances, building automation systems, kitchen and shop equipment and participates in the installation of network and phone cables. Responds to after-hours calls as may be required. Essential Job Functions: Communicate and work as a team member in a professional, respectful, positive, and constructive manner. Complete routine work as assigned; accurately document work completed on the county’s electronic work order system per department policy. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other systems. Complete a wide variety of planned maintenance (PM) tasks. Install and repair plumbing, sinks, toilets, valves, sewer lines, etc. Install and repair electrical wiring, switches, fixtures, motors, transformers, lights. And automatic alarms. Repair doors, electric and mechanical locks, and related hardware. Maintain fire protection equipment, such as sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, strobes and alarms. Keep accurate records or repairs made, work done, and time used. Supervises inmate labor as needed upon completion of training and certification. Is required to maintain a working cell phone at employee’s expense; and makes this cell phone available for work communication as needed.
